QUINTA DO QUETZAL
Quinta do Quetzal is located in the heart of the Alentejo region on the slopes of Vidigueira.
The region’s atmospheric conditions, which translate into high daily temperature ranges, give the plants the heat they need to ripen the grapes and the coolness to recover. Its exceptional quality allows wines to be produced in limited quantities, which express the character of the surrounding region.
All Quinta do Quetzal wines are produced exclusively with grapes from the property, which has 49 hectares of vineyards, of which around 1.5 hectares are old vines.
These are complex and elegant wines, the result of a careful selection of grape varieties and aging in barrels.
The main building where the store, restaurant and Art Center are located is entirely covered in slate, which in this way integrates and flows with the surrounding space.
The surrounding space was designed to incorporate natural native plants to maximize the experience of the Alentejo’s natural habitat.
At the Quinta do Quetzal Art Center you can visit different contemporary art exhibitions throughout the year.
Enjoy the relaxing and relaxed atmosphere of the Quetzal restaurant and taste the flavors inspired by Alentejo cuisine. The key elements of the dishes are local, seasonal products with a genuine flavor, always well accompanied by Quinta do Quetzal wines. At the restaurant, you can enjoy an impressive view of the property with the vegetable garden and vineyard just a step away, but also a garden of native plants, aromatic herbs and flowers that we use in preparing the dishes.
The Quinta do Quetzal project expresses its passion for Portuguese culture, nature, gastronomy and wines.
GERAÇÕES DA TALHA
The GERAÇÕES DA TALHA winery is located in Vila de Frades and dates back to the mid-18th century. It is a place of traditions and knowledge of generations that have been bringing and perfecting the magnificent Talha Wine.
This winery was acquired by Francisco Nogueira Anacleto who inherited and masterfully transmitted the art and wisdom of carved wine to the generations that followed him. A tradition that was welcomed with great passion by his son-in-law, Professor Arlindo Maria Ruivo, who has dedicated his life to this precious and unique nectar that is Talha Wine, as well as by his children and grandchildren, who were taken over by this ancient knowledge and whose generations drove the GERAÇÕES DA TALHA project.
This is a project that was born to enhance, affirm and maintain the genuine production of Talha Wine that has persisted for more than 2 millennia and is well evident in the wineries and people of the land.
The main motivation is to preserve and promote the winemaking process in clay pots, making it reach all over the world.
